{Five} Friday Favs!

It's FRIDAY people! Here are my {FIVE} favorites for this week.

{one} This fabric, GREAT for Fall appliques! Picture scarecrows  acorns, turkey tail feathers, apple baskets, and much more! Be on the look out at CBE Etsy shop for new items listed with this fabric.

{two} Cooler weather. It isn't quite Fall yet, (first day of Fall is Sept. 21st y'all!!), but here in North Georgia, we have been experiencing a slightly more mild end of Aug. and a cooler breeze in the air!

{three} Beauti Control- Spa Detox Clay Masque. I can't say enough about how great this masque is. I have pretty sensitive skin, combination skin, and tend to get the occasional "stress" blemish, or a few clogged pores from resting my chin on my hand while I am editing designs. This masque will deep clean (after your normal face wash routine) and help pull out toxins and impurities in your skin. The cool thing about this masque is that you can actually see the "toxins" come out (sort of). It is a dark grey clay, and as it dries, and pulls out the "junk" that area will turn white. I use it once to twice a week, and I no longer get the little bumps on my chin where I rest it on my hands.
If you are interested in purchasing this product or any other  or if you are looking for a new skin care routine with great results, then check out Beauti Control and all of there great products HERE. They have a great line for Women, Men, and Baby!
{four} Fall scents. It is coming up on that time to change out my candles with the smells of spice and Fall. I am ready to get this house all warm and cozy, and for the cool crisp Fall air to arrive. My favorite candles are Tyler Candle Company, you can usually find these at Hallmark stores, but check your local area to see who might offer them. Or you can check out www.tylercandles.com  My all time favorite is High Maintenance, but I am itching to try one of the seasonal scents or either Homecoming or Mulled Cider (or both)

{five} It has truly been a hectic week around my house, with having had my husband out of town on business in Clearwater, meeting the "baby's" new teachers, and then his first day of MMO
(Mothers Morning Out), and the twins Cub Scout meeting, on top of my too full work load of orders. And with three boys, and a dog, things can get pretty dicey rather quickly. So for this week, I am thankful for my Rubbermaid Reveal Mop! That is the week I have had! I bought mine at Sam's Club, maybe a year ago, and I LOVE it still. It came with several reusable mop pads that you can just pop in your wash. And the great thing about this is, that you don't need a bucket, you aren't wasting money on boxes of "baby wipe" style cleaning pads, no need for batteries  no breaking your back to wring anything out. You just fill the bottle with water and cleaning product, pull the trigger a few times and mop! DONE, couldn't be more simple to clean up after a spilled cup of milk, or a tantruming 2 y/o spaghetti slinging contest with himself (he won BTW)

HAPPY FRIDAY Y'ALL!

I'd like to take a minute.....

To introduce, MYSELF!

Let me start this blog off with a little bit about the "Creative Bug" behind Creative Bug Embroidery.

My name is Shannon....I am first and foremost a Child of God, a Wife of nearly 11 years, and a Mother to three wonderful AMAZING blue eyed, toe headed little boys. Twins Taylor & Zachary (7- June 2006) and Aaron (2.5- October 2010)
I live a full and busy life with running a small business, helping with homework, cooking, Mamm'a Taxi Service shuffling kids around, and the big ones after school extras, and trying to keep up with my husbands job demands and travels.
I was born in St. Louis, MO., moved to Houston, TX when I was 10, and then wound up in South FL., where I met the LOVE of my LIFE! And we have been transplanted in GA. for 10 years now, thanks to the US ARMY.  (Thanks to my husband who served 14 years)

We also have a 4 legged fur baby, Gunner, a English White Lab that is two years old. He keeps us crazy running, that is for sure! He is such a spoiled pup.

(I cannot believe I don't have a better, current, non cell phone picture)

I started Creative Bug Embroidery, CBE as it is commonly referred to, in March 2012. There isn't anything that I don't love to DIY, or embellish in some way. Needle work and sewing, though, have always been a passion of mine. I was taught to sew by my Mother, nearly 25 years ago, and was completely into cross stitch when younger. So much so, that I thought I was going to cross stitch my entire full size comforter, HA!
CBE came about after I had our youngest son, Aaron. With having some hand-me-downs from his twin brothers, I was just disappointed in what I was finding in some big name stores at the mall. Designs were cute, but the quality had gone down over the years, and the newer purchased items vs the hand-me-downs were not holding up. And for the price I paid, it just wasn't worth it to me. So I decided to dig in to those creative juices I seem to always have flowing (my brain NEVER shuts off) and take my sewing skills, and tap into the world of machine embroidery. Plus, I am a Southern Girl....I can't tell you the money I was spending because believe think everything that isn't nailed down, must needs to be monogrammed (heck, even things that are nailed down can be decaled)

So there you have it, Me- in a nutshell.

Stay tuned for upcoming blogs, new deals with CBE, fun giveaways, and just daily life and shenanigans of my life!
